The Campaign Publishing Awards


Campaign is delighted to host Campaign Publishing Awards 2021. In its tenth year, the awards celebrate businesses and people who have adapted, embraced change and diversified during a time of significant change across the publishing and commercial content sectors.

Industry leaders from across the national, regional and international media industry will judge the awards, with the winners announced at a virtual ceremony on 11 and 12 May.

The awards were previously known as the British Media Awards, and were refreshed with a change of name and separate categories for both consumer and business media companies in 2020.  In the consumer media categories in 2020 The Guardian was named Brand of the Year and Time Out took International Brand of the Year.

Demi Abiola

BUSINESS DIRECTOR, PHD

Demi Abiola is a Business Director at PHD media, where he joined in September 2005. He started his career at KPMG, where he trained to be an accountant, however, he decided working in media was more suited to his gregarious personality than in finance and joined ITV in 2002. Demi has a wealth of experience across a range of different advertising sectors, with his current client portfolio consisting of amongst others: Warner Bros, HSBC, VW brands and Diageo.

Demi is passionate about Publishing and diversity in the advertising, where he is a panellist, judge and speaker at many industry events. He is a mentor at the Brixton finishing school and a member of Media for all which was set up to help encourage more Black, Asian and other ethnic talent into media and provide a support and mentoring network to ensure that the talent flourishes.

In his spare time, you will find Demi playing poker, listening to music on the Peloton, boxing or practising Yoga.

Launch of the Year

Media owners constantly have to revise their product mix to keep users engaged and to keep up with the rapid pace of growth in the industry. This means different things to different organisations, but the goal remains - to keep ahead of the curve and deliver innovation for users and clients. This award recognises the best in launch during the eligibility period for submissions, January 2020 – December 2020, on any platform, in any format, whether standalone or as a complement to an existing product or product mix. The judges will make the award based on the commercial objective of the launch, progress made, quality, innovation, pushing the boundaries and evidence of results. In this pandemic year, evidence of how the launch team adapted and/or innovated to suit business conditions will also be considered by the judges.
